Cyclodextrin glucanotransferase 13A (BCdg13A), assigned the E.C. number 2.4.1.19, is a derivative of Bacillus sp.. It is an enzyme that cyclizes part of a 1,4-α-D-glucan chain by formation of a 1,4-α-D-glucosidic bond. The recombinant BCdg13A, purified from Escherichia coli, is a modular Glycoside Hydrolase family 13 (GH13) enzyme, with a C-terminal family 20 Carbohydrate Binding Module (CBM20) (see more details at www.cazy.org).
