Cellulase 9K (RtCel9K), assigned the E.C. number 3.2.1.4, is a derivative of Ruminiclostridium thermocellum. It is an endo-1,4-β-glucanase. The recombinant RtCel9K, purified from Escherichia coli, is a modular Glycoside Hydrolase family 9 (GH9) enzyme, with an N-terminal family 4 and family 30 Carbohydrate Binding Modules (CBM4 and CBM30, respectively) and a C-terminal dockerin (see more details at www.cazy.org).
